For All Mankind
By Timothy P. Schmalz
Project Description
This depiction of the crucifixion is a creative expression that Christ died for All Mankind. It is a creative expression of this idea contained inside the vessel of the traditional corpus imagery. The head, hands, loin cloth and feet all remain perfectly identifiable as a corpus yet inside the body of Christ we find all of humanity expressed with a multitude of faces from every race, gender and age. His Body captures the Universal Church and this is an inclusive corpus for a modern church in a modern age.
